Maybe has to do with the fact that they picked up the the guitar player from the cover band. I don't see any of them as cover bands if there is a core member present. Seems like 7 Walkers puts there own spin on the songs more then Furthur though. That must have been interesting with the tuba. I'm all for the brass but I don't know if it can replace George Porter. How did you like the show?

It may just be my ears, but I only heard the tuba in the mix a couple of times through the show (unless those bass notes I heard came from the tuba). The tuba definitely didn't replace Mr. Porter. The clips I saw on Youtube made me think the band would be a bit funkier.

I enjoyed the show, but probably would have had more fun in a different environment. It was a festival put by a local brewery, and I generally don't do well in festivals. Plus I was trying to chase down some friends, so I missed a bit of the music.

Would I see em again? If Porter was there, I probably would. Without Porter? Nah.
